INTRODUCTION

Newtown Kyokushin Karate Dojo teaches what is generally known as the strongest karate style, Kyokushin. The club is a member of the International Federation of Karate Kyokushinkai Australia, (IFKKA) which in turn is a member of the Hanshi Steve Arneil's International Federation of Karate, also known as the IFK.

NOTE: As of January 2011, the club is only open to children attending Newtown North Public School and their siblings under the age of 12. All teenagers and adults are invited to visit the Petersham club (Kuro Obi Martial Arts) at 96 Crystal St, just around the corner on Brighton St. See

The dojo instructor is Sensei Shaharin Yussof who has a rank of Yondan (4th degree Black Belt). There are also three assistant 1st degree black belt instructors.
