What a great event this was! We had a good turnout, and a lot of good kata!
A copy of the results is attached in case you're interested.
The brown belts did their divisons first, to show the others how kata should be done, and then we had some strong shows from the other grades too, in particular the hard fought Junior Yellow belts, with 4 rounds!! because we had a draw in the final.
Many thanks to the parents and students who helped with the setup and pack up on Saturday and Sunday, and to Paul Morcos and Danica Mcleod who ran the canteen on the day.
Thanks also to Sensei Jenny, Senpai Shigemi, Jack Britton, Danny Lai, Kris Parekh, Anthony Zamattia, Scott Harris, and Diane Deller for working in an official capacity on the day, be it as a ring official, table official, or both.

The grading has been postponed so that we can work on a few things that came up at the recent BKK camp in the UK that I attended, and to allow a bit more time to prepare.
If you want to grade for 4th kyu and up, check with your instructor NOW to see whether you're eligible, and if so, start working on your techniques and stamina NOW. Here's a tip - make sure your zenkutsu dachi is up to par- REALLY - I mean it - make sure your zenkutsu dachi is good (and all your other stances too)!
This will be the kind of tournament as the previous contact tournament, with pads and helmets for those who are evenly matched, and semi-contact for those who are not.
More details to follow soon!
This is currently planned for the 24th November, but we haven't confirmed a venue yet. If you have any suggestions that would be fun for about 90 children and adults, please let me know ASAP, so that we can look into it.
Keep training hard!
