AMAC 2008 Round 1 Results Print E-mail
Image The results of the first AMAC for 2008 have been added to the tournaments section of this website. It's been our most successful tournament to date, but this was also because we had 25 competitors taking part. We hope that future events will be even better attended! We should be getting the inaugural "Most Successful School" Award.

New Video Page Print E-mail
Image We've added a video page, with embedded links to videos on Youtube. If you know of any others, Youtube or otherwise, let Sensei Shah know, and he might decide to add them to the list. You can find it by clicking here, or on the Galleries link in the left hand menu. You'll note that the link in the menu is titled "Other videos". That's because there's also an IFKKA videos page planned for the future, where we'll only have videos of IFKKA members in action.

Training katas uploaded Print E-mail
Image A couple of "new" kata have been uploaded to the Members' download section. These kata were developed by students at Newtown dojo as intellectual exercises. However, since the effort was made, there's no sense in wasting it, and they're being offered to our students as training kata. Additionally, because they are more complex than the first 4 kata in the IFK syllabus, they can also be used by the lower grades i.e. up to 7th kyu, as tournament kata!. Log in and try them out. These are only available to members of the the IFKKA. If you don't have a login and are a current student with the IFKKA, please contact Sensei Shah for a login name and password.

September Senior Grading Print E-mail
Image The September Senior grading was one of the largest ones we've had in a long time, and we're pleased to announce that in addition to all those who moved up to the next grade, two people double graded, one triple graded, and we've got a new Black Belt (congratulations, Ali Aryan)! It was a long grading and it took place at the Dulwich Hill dojo. Many thanks to our Kempo Ryu friends and colleaques Sensei Luke, Senpais Margaret and Sonja, and Earl, who came along to make Ali's grading memorable. The results are here.
September Junior Grading Print E-mail
ImageThe September junior grading results are now available. Congratulations all and especially to Marc, who double-graded to 9th kyu! This was a relatively small grading because all the adults will be grading at the senior grading at the end of the month.
