World All Styles Print E-mail
ImageThe World All Styles Organisation Tournament, which happens once every 4 years, will be taking place in the Gold Coast over the June/July weekend. Anyone who competed in last year's NAS Nationals, or comes in the top five places in a division in the next two NAS rounds this year, will qualify to compete. Discuss this article on the forums. New Tournaments added Print E-mail
Image Three new full contact tournaments have been added to the calendar. They are all for the AKKA, who will be running their NSW, National, and this year also, the World Cup tournaments. All of these are full contact. They are also running two non-contact tournaments in association with the NSW and National Championships. For more information see their website. NAS Best Official for NSW Print E-mail
ImageSensei Shah was nominated as the Best Official for NSW at the 2005 NAS Nationals on the Gold Coast last year. This makes it the second time he's been awarded the honour. The previous time was at the 2002 Nationals in Melbourne. Shihan Doug has also been awarded the title twice, in 1999 and 2000.

Level 4 Referees Print E-mail
ImageShihan Doug and Sensei Shah were promoted to Australian Referees Board (ARB) Level 4 Referees at the 2005 NAS Nationals on the Gold Coast last year. They were among 9 who were promoted to this level, making a total of 10 in the country. NSW has the highest number, by far, of Level 4 refs.
