Squad and Fitness Training Sessions Print E-mail
Image Ben Osland from Newtown Dojo has decided that our students need more training opportunities and has offered to run Sunday sessions at Newtown from 10:00-12:00 in the morning. It's a good opportunity to get very fit, as Ben is keen to get more people up to his standards! Training will consiste of stamina, strength, and speed work, and should allow you all to get nice and warm during the coming winter Sunday mornings! 29th April - Unfortunately, Newtown's hall is no longer available at this time. We're looking for an alternative location. Any suggestions/offers?

Dulwich Hill Dojo Print E-mail
ImageSenpai Andre Noujaim is starting up the new Dulwich Hill dojo next Wed, 18th April. It's at 151-153 Constitution Rd, just down the road from the car wash on New Canterbury Road. Everyone is invited, even urged, to come along and make the "housewarming" a good one!

Training will be on Wednesdays 5:30-9:00pm, and Saturdays from 2:00-5:00pm. If you need any extra training, here's another place to go! Drop by for a training session, to say hello, and don't forget bring a friend.

ImageThe latest issue of Bujutsu magazine is now in the stands, and it has a write-up of our 2006 tournament written by yours truly. Why not pick up a copy of today. The latest issue of Blitz also has a small article about Shihan's and Sensei's visit to the New Zealand IFK camp.

E-Book version of Budo Karate of Mas Oyama Print E-mail
ImageThere's a new banner that will appear at random on the bottom of this site. It's for Cameron Quinn's e-book version of his classic Budokarate of Mas Oyama. It's been a major reference book for Kyokushin for about 20 years, and the original has been out of print for a long time. Now Cameron Quinn has reissued it as an ebook. Why not check it out and buy a copy?

2006 National All Styles Results Print E-mail
Image The 2006 National All Styles have come and gone, and we did well! OSU to Andrew Keenan, who got 3rd and 4th place in points and continuous respectively, and John Pegios who improved on his result by one placing from the WASO earlier this year by taking 2nd place in the continuous division! He only missed out on 1st place because his final opponent managed to accidentally hit John on a previously injured rib, thereby putting him off his stride for the rest of the bout. Kudos also to Tristan O'Bree who, despite turning up late for the division, managed to pull off 2nd place in his point sparring division. It's a pity he had to fight John Pegios early on, thereby eliminating him from place contention. It would have been good to see them both with trophies in this division!

New download Print E-mail
I've just added the IFK warmup to the registered members section of the site. It's a 55kb PDF download. It should already be in your syllabus, but here's another one for those of you who've managed to misplace your syllabus book!
